FMC: Freedom of the Hills
Calling all past and present members of the Pukekohe Tramping Club; you’re invited to the club’s 50th Anniversary event!
A social gathering for lunch with the theme “PTC Five Decades Ago”. This will be at the same venue as our club’s first ever overnight camp where members learnt how to pitch a tent and cook with camp gear: Schlaepfer Park Scout Camp at Patumahoe. It will include a display from days gone by, cutting of the anniversary cake and plenty of reminiscing.
The launch of the “PTC Five Summits Walk” around central Pukekohe which incorporates five local landmark hills representing five decades of PTC members tramping the hills of NZ. The permanent trail will be signed and follow a map which will also be accessed online. This is our club’s contribution back to the area to mark our 50th year. The trail will total about 20km, split into five separate sections so people are free to choose as much or as little as they wish walk. It will showcase interesting features in our area and encourage people to get out and enjoy the benefits of walking.
Contact the club (email below) to register your interest in attending.
